Jack Nicklaus The Man Behind the Legend is the story of golf's greatest champion.
This epic programme chronicles Jack's life from his amateur days in Ohio to his last unforgettable win aged 46 at the 1986 Masters and the mountains he continues to climb in the 21st century.
By use of home movies filmed by Charlie Nicklaus (Jack's father), viewers will be able to witness Jack's remarkable athletic talent in all sports including football, baseball and basketball. In addition, the program includes rare archive footage showing two of Jack's most dominating but often overlooked performances: the 1961 US Amateur and the 1961 World Team Amateur.
Jack Nicklaus The Man Behind the Legend includes stories and anecdotes from President George H.W. Bush, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Tom Weiskopf, Johnny Miller, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Tom Kite, Seve Ballesteros, Raymond Floyd, and Ben Crenshaw. And of course the film contains interviews with Barbara Nicklaus and all five of the Nicklaus kids.
What makes the programme incredibly special and unique are the insights provided by Jack himself. His first person accounts of his victories (and the occasional defeat) are riveting. His insights into golf and life are fascinating and make for an exceptionally entertaining documentary.
