In ancient times, the legendary books of Ys were guarded by powerful priests and goddesses. Contained within the pages of these books lay the secret to all the good in this world, and all the evil in a man's heart.
Adol Christen embarks on a quest to gather the books of Ys, and to defeat that very evil. Dark fact, a descendent of the guardians, uses his power to control vile monsters and makes himself Adol's enemy. This is a journey that will reach to the boundaries of Esteria, and even the mysterious floating island of Ys itself.
